Had another wonderful Father’s Day camping trip. I do miss the days when everyone would go, but Lee and I still have a good time every year.
This year we hit up Jordan Lake State Recreation Area and we had a really good time. (Minus the fact that the bathrooms were too far away from all but one campsite and also dirty and old and full of mosquitos and just all around stupid. They had fricken push handles in the showers and no temperature control. A whole shower took 56 handle pushes and the water was cold on push 1-35, luke warm on 36-50, and scalding on 51-56.)

Bathhouse notwithstanding we had a blast. We hiked a little bit, swam a lot, baked in the heat, rain from the rain, and had several bald eagle sightings.

In between that we took a little time to head to town and grab some delicious ice cream at Andia’s Ice Cream and man it was delicious! I got 2 scoops of cannoli cream in a homemade waffle cone and Lee got a lemon poppy seed milkshake. Both were amazing!

We always like to try local places and we’re very rarely disappointed. So on our way out we stopped by The Turkish Coffee Lady‘s spot and grabbed some coffee, Turkish bagels with cream cheese, and three different kinds of baklava. Everything was absolutely delicious.

We headed home sunburnt, bug bitten, sore, full, and happy. For those of you who don’t camp, you’re missing out. Go outside and play! ❤
